Georgios Sarlis

Georgios Sarlis is a Supreme Court lawyer admitted to the Thessaloniki Bar Association in 2010, providing complete legal services throughout Greece.
He was born in Chalkida in 1983. In 2001 he entered the Law School of the Democritus University of Thrace. During his studies he was a member of the Laboratory of Criminological Sciences. In 2009 he attended the two-year Postgraduate Program of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and received MSc Diploma in Criminal Law.
From March to October 2015 he was a special associate of the Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights, while since then until July 2016 he served as a member of the Special Scientific Staff in the office of the Minister of the same Ministry. In August 2016 by decision of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Justice, Transparency and Human Rights he was appointed as Secretary General of the same Ministry and served until November 2017, when he resigned. In August 2018, he was re-appointed Secretary General of the aforementioned Ministry, serving in this position until July 2019. During the 2 years he held the office of Secretary General of the Ministry, he also presided over the Pardons Council, as well as over the Board of Directors of the Judicial Buildings Financing Fund (TAHDIK). From July 2019 until today he is a scientific associate of the Leader of the major Opposition.
In the past, he collaborated with the NGO ARSIS in legal support programs for unaccompanied minors “Metoikos” (2011, 2013). He was a member of the legal team of KETHEA Prometheus (Northern Greece addictions rehabilitation center) (2014-2015). He collaborated with the French organization for international technical cooperation on public administration reform issues “Expertise France” as a private expert on the subject “Inter-ministerial Coordination and Monitoring Policies” (2018), while following that he was, until assuming the duties of the Secretary General of the Ministry, a special associate of the General Inspector of Public Administration (2018).
